In my newest work, I have been exploring themes of fate, randomness, and the universality of talent, and the sorrow of lost potential. Although I have previously worked almost exclusively with paint, I have used paint, paper, wire, and textiles to created this current project. The work was inspired by the humble and sad little jacket our adopted daughter came to us in which led to much thought about the fate of other children in similar circumstances.
Suzanne came to painting late in life. She earned a BA and MA in English from Loyola Marymount University and later studied art at Otis College of Art and Design. She has exhibited work at a number of galleries in Washington state, but relocated to Los Angeles recently and began studying with Tom Wudl in 2018.
