My paintings are about the extravagantly humble landscape of Ontario, Canada, where I was born and lived for twenty-six years. I still love and miss it. This homesickness is very stimulating for me. After all, where is home if you don't live where you were born? Is it here in California? Is it there in Ontario? Is home both places or neither? I paint trees, sky and shells of houses that are either appearing or disappearing. My paintings depict an idea of home that really doesn't exist any more. Trying to convey these concepts on canvas is very comforting.
