I will never forget the magic of deveIoping a photograph in the “darkroom” watching the image emerge.,,,,,,, many years later my medium was still photography combined with painting software, creating digital files and printing images on all kinds of surfaces. More recently I have been moving more into the direction of painting, wanting to explore mark making from "my hand" instead of using software "looking like my hand". Not sure where this will take me. but enjoying the physicallity of it all.
This new body of work is inspired by a love letter written in 1759. “I write without seeing. I came. I wanted to kiss your hand….this is the first time I have ever written in the dark…..not knowing whether I am indeed forming letters. Wherever there will be nothing, read I love you.” - Denis Diderot, Letter to Sophie Volland,
