Mindy Alper was born in Brooklyn, NY, and lives in Los Angeles. At the age of 4 she began to study with well-known art teacher Dorothy Cannon and continued until she was 40. She also studied with Harry Burnett, Leonard Schwartz, Anthony Austin, Phyllis Muldavin, Olga Seem Kooyman and Sue Maing. Since 2007, she has studied with Tom Wudl.
Alper has had solo exhibitions at the Random Gallery and at Rosamund Felsen Gallery, which has represented her since 2006. She is the subject of Frank Stiefel’s 2018 Oscar-winning short documentary “Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405.”
