“Nickelodeons, orchestrions, player pianos, juke-boxes, automata, painting and, a thirst for creativity. All these were part of my growing up years. Most of my art has been paintings and drawings. My prior exhibit was moving metal sculptures. This time I look back to the pop-up books my parents collected and use them as a starting point. How do they work, move, and engage us? How do they mesh with my artistic goals of working in the present, exploring opposites, repetition, and the desire to experience the unknown.”
