Statement
I’m fascinated by the kinetic interplay colors have with each other. Recently I’ve been exploring a minimalist expression of this connection. These canvases are painted with multiple layers of brilliantly colored house paints alternating with multiple layers of black acrylic. The result is a dark fusion of black with color beneath.
Biography
While living in NYC, BJ Dockweiler studied art and design at Fordham University, the New School, School of Visual Arts and Art Students League. Her work has been exhibited at the studioeleven Gallery, the Ebel, the Colburn School, Art Share LA and the Neutra Gallery. She has been studying with Tom Wudl since 2008.
