I was educated in Pure Maths at Bangor University North Wales. My two passions are programming and painting. I have always been interested in solving problems, trying to figure out a solution using nothing but my wits. I find that painting and programming compliment each other, they seem to go hand in hand at least for me. How weird is that? You see good painters are not born, granted I suppose there has to be some hidden talent, but the road to becoming a painter is a long one and is only achieved by strenuous hard work, hardship, observation and above all research and learning the craft. Too many painters today are just plain mediocre! The same goes for programmers, good programmers. So I’m either at the easel or in front of my monitors. I paint nudes and I paint faces. My subjects tend to be the people closest in my life, my family and friends. I am interested in the painting process itself, the way the paint lays on the canvas leaving a brushstroke. I tend to paint quickly and with determination. I have found this approach best suit my temperament and can lead to a work, which represents a visually challenging experience, full of unexpected detail. I will often reconstruct a painting to create further complexities and quite by chance introduce sublime undulating patterns. Marek Sienkiewicz 2009
