I was born in Tanzania, but spent my childhood in County Durham, Sussex and Dorset. I came to Southend to be with my husband, after graduating from Brighton and completing my art teacher qualifications at Middlesex. My work is heavily influenced by organic processes and their fluid nature. Whether working with porcelain, paper, card, wire or other media I enjoying pushing the barriers of each material as I learn more about them. The shape, size, structure and function of bowls have been a recurrent theme in my work. Over the last ten years I have enjoyed collaborating with schools on a variety of projects; creating murals, mosaics and sculpture with children for their school buildings and grounds.
